Xbox One Getting Added Hardware Incentive... Maybe
It may only be a headset to look at but the predicted addition of the Microsoft gaming headset (pictured) to the Xbox One offering later this year signals a change of heart on the behalf of a beleaguered and currently headless company.

Initially Microsoft was going to take the Xbone - as the Xbox One is nicknamed - to market armed with a new controller and a hugely souring reputation based on requirements for digital rights management (DRM). The console itself appeared to boast little in the way of truly cutting edge thinking. But now, with the departure of Xbone mainman Don Mattrick to Zynga, and a turnaround on the DRM plan things appear to be changing for the better.

According to Eurogamer, "Microsoft has announced another change of policy for Xbox One - the console will now launch with a headset included."

For it's part, however, MCV reports that rather than Microsoft confirming any headset inclusion, "a GEM insert called The Future In Store sent to retail readers in this week's copy of MCV today reveals that a revised spec sheet for the machine says that a headset will in fact be included in the SKU."

It adds that, "Microsoft had already back-tracked on its statement that Xbox 360 headsets would not be compatible. It now says it is producing an adapter for exactly that purpose."

More on this ongoing headset news as we get it.
