Details on the multiplayer mode for The Last of Us has apparently been leaked online, and if true it seems like Naughty Dog has taken the feature very seriously indeed.

Found on Pastebin, the multiplayer details discovered within the game's demo highlights an interesting survival action affair featuring clans of NPC characters that you can train to fight the hordes of infected on your behalf.

Your actions and performance in a multiplayer match will determine the success of your clan - who survives, who dies of starvation or enemy attacks and who gets infected. Ultimately, the goal is to try and gather as many new recruits to your team as possible while keeping in mind what your online multiplayer opponents are doing with their clans too.

Your character collects Parts, which can then be turned into Supplies. Using these, you can support your clan members are they improve their skills, rescue other survivors or defend your land from infected. The multiplayer pastebin shows a number of alerts and statuses that inform the player of each NPC character's activity.

It's sounding like Naughty Dog has cooked up an intriguing combination of survival action and strategy in its competitive mode. The studio is set to reveal all over the next week.
