Thankyou Shrek, for making us so much money.

TDK released its third quarterly earnings figures for the year yesterday, which showed that, thanks to its games publishing exploits, the company will be making around 329% more profit this year than it did in the last.

“We are very pleased with these results. The company's revenues for the quarter and year-to-date substantially exceeded its revenues for the corresponding periods in the previous year," said Vincent Bitetti, Chief Executive Officer of TDK Mediactive. "The results reflect the strong sales of Shrek for Microsoft's Xbox and Shrek: Fairy Tale Freakdown for Nintendo Game Boy Color. Our revenues were also enhanced by re-publishing revenues for products distributed in Europe. For 2002, we expect to see an acceleration of video game hardware system penetration and anticipate that our licensing agreements with DreamWorks, Mattel, DC Comics and Hallmark will provide even more momentum going into what we believe will be a period of significant growth for our industry."

As game-related companies continue to be buoyant, gamers can rest assured that a steady stream of games, backed by ever-more impressive budgets, will be coming their way.
