Summary

Games based on films are becoming more commonplace these days and here, to accompany the film of the same name, is Shrek from TDK Mediactive. Shrek is an action, fighting game for the Game Boy Color and it makes good use of the storyline of the film. It uses the charismatic characters and places them in an ultimate fighting championship.

You see, Shrek is an ogre who lives in a far away swamp, and one day, his land is overrun by an assortment of fairytale characters. It turns out that these unfortunate souls have been banished by the evil Lord Farquaad. Shrek strikes a deal with Lord Farquaad. If he returns Princess Fiona, everyone can go home and be happy.

In Shrek on the Game Boy, you challenge the other characters to a succession of fights to see who is the Ultimate Champion. You initially choose from six playable characters including favourites like Shrek, Princess Fiona and Pinocchio. Each character has their own unique signature moves, such as Shrek being able to perform the deadly flying burrito kick. Learning the special moves and pulling them in close fights will help you become victorious.

Chances are if you have seen the film, you will be impressed with the quality of graphics and humour in Shrek. Chances are if you a beat-em-up fanatic you will appreciate this latest effort from TDK Mediactive.
