Microsoft is ramping up work on what is enevitably going to be called the Kinect 2 - well as per *that* document it will be called that. This time it's with recruitment. An advert on Microsoft's own careers site is asking for "Software Development Engineer-IEB-XBOX Live" but there is more to this than meets the eye.
"Do you want to work on the future of Natural User Input as a member of the team that *shipped* Kinect for the Xbox 360? Do you have strong research skills and are passionate about engineering and product development?
"The Xbox Platform Team is gearing up towards the next generation of Natural User Interface (NUI) technologies. We are the convergence zone of MSR, Incubation, Game Developers and the XBOX Platform, providing the building blocks for exciting new NUI experiences.
"This position requires a strong algorithmic background and a track record implementing and evaluating experiences or systems through rapid prototyping. Successful candidate must be able to come up to speed with new technologies, be flexible, creative and able to ramp up quickly. "
Oh, the emphasis on "shipped" is in
the advert, which you can find here.
