Microsoft's SmartGlass (tee hee) vision is starting to come to fruition, with the release on an app that allows you to control your Xbox 360 using an iPad. Neat! It's called My Xbox Live, and while it's been available for the iPhone for about a month, it's time the tablet got some console-controlling love.Using the app, you can sweep across the Xbox 360 dashboard, launch videos and games and tap on icons to interact with them in the same way as you would with a Kinect device (only, you're actually touching something this time around).
According to
Trusted Reviews, the implementation of Microsoft's Metro theme is quite "shallow", with virtual buttons required to execute commands further down the rabbit hole of Xbox 360 menus. But hey, you can edit your Avatar using the app - bonus!
The My Xbox Live app is available on the
App Store now, for free.
