Microsoft appears ready to give the old tablet market yet another stab amidst growing Apple dominance, with reports suggesting an official unveiling at an LA press event on Monday 18th June.
After the rumour surfaced on media website The Wrap, AllThingsD did some extra digging and followed up with the claim that such a tablet would run Windows RT, a version of Windows 8 that does not include the traditional Windows 7 desktop.
RT runs on ARM microprocessors but emphasises a touch-based operating system. Any such reveal is likely to coincide with the recent announcement of SmartGlass, a platform that Microsoft will use to transfer data between mobiles, tablets and consoles.
