The long-awaited new DLC for Portal 2 is tantalisingly close to release... ridiculously so, in fact, because it's actually coming out tomorrow. Valve have confirmed that Portal 2: Peer Review will be appearing on Xbox Live, PSN and Steam on October 4th.

The new content promises to continue the story of test robots P-Body and Atlas on a brand new test track in the game's co-op mode. There's also a new challenge mode that allows you to compare your performance with other gamers in single and multiplayer. Even better, Peer Review is available on all formats for free.

Creator Valve is certainly being rather generous with the giveaways at the moment. Last week it announced that you can also pick up the third volume of the Portal 2 soundtrack for nothing right here (along with the first two). In a world where companies are more than happy to charge through the nose for crappy updates and props for avatars, it's great to see one that treats the consumers well.

Sweet. Free DLC - I'd buy that for a dollar!
