Over in the USA, it seems that all is not rosy for Netflix. Contract renewal negotiations between the company and TV network Starz have broken down, meaning that the channel will no longer be providing content from next year. The deal expires next February which means there'll be no more Starz content through Netflix, including that which is streamed through the Xbox 360 service.
Starz currently has hundreds of hours of television and film in their catalogue and will invariably be looking for another distribution outlet. Will the rejigged Sony Entertainment Network on PS3 be in its sights?
Starz recently had a deal to distribute Sony films, so the two companies certainly have history. It would be something of a coup if Sony managed to get their hands on such a notable provider.
Sony's Qriocity rebrand could do with some decent material to truly make it the one-stop entertainment shop that they're aiming for, and Starz definitely has plenty in its locker. Will the two come together to make a rather powerful partnership? Come next March, we'll have our answer
Think, 360 users! No Captain Jack Harkness or Smurfs movie! What will you do with yourselves?
