Here we go again. Sony has again rebranded its digital entertainment services, doing away with the Qriocity name and instead launching the Sony Entertainment Network.Sony's president of consumer products and services group, Kaz Hirai, announced the change at the IFA electronics trade show in Berlin, saying that it will "accelerate the integration of hardware, content, and network."
The reshaped Sony Entertainment Network will have three branded pillars - Music Unlimited, Video Unlimited and PlayStation Network. It's unknown whether the PSN video store currently in place will be rebranded to assume the Video Unlimited name.
"The whole of Sony is greater than the sum of its parts," Hirai added. Which is basically admitting that it's been doing a bit of a naff job at the whole digital content thing, but the company is still pretty awesome. Good to know.
