Star Wars: The Old Republic - Won't Be Here Soon
Electronic Arts chief financial officer Eric Brown has told a meeting of financial types that "it's reasonable to infer" that Star Wars: The Old Republic will not hits the shops (or 'stores') until after June 31st this year.

The good news is that some 1.5million eager Star Wars and gaming fans have signed up to the SWTOR beta, meaning we'd hope, that when the game does hit it won't be bugged to buggery.

Strangely, at the meeting at Lazards, Mr Brown also pointed out that, "We're not that concerned about generating initial demand." That's 'strangely' for a CFO.

"For us", he continued, "it's about creating the right experience for expanding from tier one and the tier two users to getting people who have never played an MMO before, but are interested in Star Wars, to engage and give it a try."

Of course it is! Demand? Pfft! It's about creativity. That said, Mr B' also mentioned that, "Our addressable market is well beyond 12m people ... into more of a general gamer population, pretty much anyone that has a minimum spec personal computer."

Righty-ho. We'll see.
