Seems like concerns from Japanese retail were a bit premature - Microsoft's Kinect device has sold 26,000 units in its first two days of sale in the Land of the Rising Sun.
The number was more than what retailers were expecting, after initially reporting that the Xbox 360 peripheral would flounder. We already reported that, thanks to the launch of the motion-sensing camera, Xbox 360 sales trebled.
The sales figure is still a mile away from the kind of numbers enjoyed by product launches from Sony and Nintendo platforms - Microsoft hardware usually sells around 3,000 units a week in Japan - but it's certainly a start. Now all we have to do is see if Kinect can start to truly grow the userbase in the country.

Really suprised considering they almost always support their countries product, which they still do.
