If you've been yelling at Kinect, "Xbox turn the hell off!" to no avail, don't feel foolish. You can, in fact, feel all worthy and you can polish your Green credentials according to Microsoft.
The head of the Kinect incubation project - and non-sunglasses wearing fag smoker - Alex Kipman has explained why you can't use the controller to turn the Xbox 360 on or off:
"To be able to listen all the time for you to turn it on means there (must be) some amount of power going to the sensor.
"We wanted to make sure there's no power going when the system's off, to be good world citizens ... We want to be green compliant and more green more times."

simple reason you can't turn it off... your sibling will walk into the room when your at a critical part of a game and will say "xbox turn off"
