"Revenue increased primarily due to strong sales of Windows 7, the 2010 Microsoft Office system, Server and Tools products, and the Xbox 360 console and video games", so says Microsoft in its statement regarding the three months to September 30th 2010.The statement details that Microsoft made revenues of $16.2 billion for the quarter in question - that's 25% up over the same period in 2009. The Entertainment and Devices Division (AKA 'The Xbox Division') made $1.8 billion of that, compared with $1.4 billion in the same period in 2009.
Out of the total company revenue, Microsoft netted $5.4 billion (up 59%). Of that 'The Xbox Division' made $382 million for the period, which is up 46%.
