The latest in Capcom's offerings at zombie survival, Dead Rising 2, has shipped two million units across the world. This could possibly add some cheer to the fact that overall sales for the company slumped by 39.9% in the six months to September 30th 2010 compared to the previous year. Altogether the
Dead Rising series has totalled four million units in sales to date. The latest in the franchise was co-developed by Canadian developer Blue Castle Games who has since been bought out by Capcom and renamed Capcom Game Studio Vancouver.
Positive signs for an eventual sequel in
Dead Rising 3 then? If Capcom executive Keiji Inafune's comments of wanting the series to replace
Resident Evil as Capcom's major series ring true then it is only a matter of time. Maybe we'll see 3 million units shipped that time around.
Until then, care for some
Dead Rising 2 online co-op? SPOnG's Chuck can be identified from the dress and shades he always wears, bare feet and only ever uses a lava lamp to beat zombies with.
