EA Sports MMA studio Tiburon has revealed that it has had a little bit of development help from its friends, as BioWare was consulted on many of the game's "non-interactive" sequences and story elements.
Development director Nick Laing told SPOnG of the collaborative effort being made at EA as the publisher readies its counter to THQ's popular UFC Undisputed series. As well as BioWare's assistance, Laing revealed that people from the Fight Night team were assigned to MMA, with the boxing game's engine was modified to boot.
"Right now we at Tiburon are trying to close the game out, and we've done a lot of the work here, but early on other EA studios played a very big part in MMA's development," Laing said. "We sent designers and engineers to BioWare's studio in Canada to consult them on our non-interactive elements and story moments, and we brought some of their people into our team as well.
"One of the benefits of working at EA is just the pool of shared knowledge and foundation that everyone brings in each studio. We're all constantly updating and improving on each other's titles, as well as our own," he added.
