Sony's confirmed the media store service we told you about yesterday. Sony seems set on calling it 'Music Unlimited Powered by Qriocity', though we're settling on 'Music Unlimited'. It's due later this year. The service was confirmed at IFA over in Berlin. It differs from iTunes in that its content is stored in the cloud and streamed, rather than downloaded. There's no confirmation on a pricing model yet.
"The service will give you access to millions of songs that are stored and synchronised through the cloud and can be accessed via PS3, BRAVIA TVs, Blu-ray Disc players, Blu-ray Home Theatre systems and VAIO computers, with one single account and without the need to manage digital files," PlayStation Blog
tells us.
Qriocity - pronounced 'curiosity' (helpfully) is already available in the US, but this marks the first confirmation of the service we've had for the UK.
