Rumours of an Xbox 360-only Call of Duty: Black Ops beta have been stamped on by Treyarch community manager, Josh Olin.
CVG quotes him as saying, "We're already doing an internal beta with all sorts of Activision studios - thousands of people are participating in our beta. That's the only formal beta that we're planning at the moment. There were a lot of misconceptions, confusion and Google ads.
"There was some speculation that we'd be launching a public beta tonight - that's not happening. The beta is internal only right now."
The rumour started when a picture of a Google ad supposedly offering an Xbox 360 exclusive beta for the game turned up. This was supported with other screens, although ultimately it would appear to have added up to nothing at all.
