Call of Duty: Black Ops 'Wager Match' Multiplayer Revealed in Video

Treyarch has revealed a new way to play online Call of Duty multiplayer games with Black Ops, called Wager Matches. Players use in-game currency to gamble against opponents for a Top 3 scoreboard ranking, and if you fall outside of that threshold you lose all of your cash.
A trailer, which you can watch below, shows that it's more than just a simple betting system. Four brand new modes have been introduced specifically for Wager Matches, all with little twists and perks that add tension. The first is called One in the Chamber, and gives all players a pistol, one bullet and three lives. Miss, and you have to resort to melee to beat your foes.
Sticks and Stones equips everyone with a crossbow, ballistic knife and a tomahawk. If you manage to kill someone with a tomahawk, you bankrupt that player automatically. Gun Game starts players with a pistol, and every kill upgrades their weaponry to the next tier - the aim is to progress through all the weapons before the others, but getting knifed will make you drop a tier.
The final mode is called Sharp Shooter, and gives everyone the same randomly selected weapon for a fixed amount of time, before switching to another weapon entirely. Each kill earns a perk and a score multiplier.
