WTF News: Kinect: $49 for a Cable Extension

Hardware add-ons priced.

The website for game accessory producerPDP details some of the accessories that will be available for the upcoming Microsoft Kinect this November.

Players will be able to purchase a wall mount ($14.99), a TV mount ($39.99), a cable extension that will give an extra 9 feet to your Kinect's connection ($49.99) and a floor stand ($29.99).

The products are due to launch at the same time as the Kinect in November and although most of them are reasonably priced, why the extension cable is the dearest accessory, one can only guess.

I was told you would only have to buy a Kinect, and that was you'd need...

I wonder how many conventional games I could buy with the money I'd save if I didn't buy a Kinect, and didn't buy all these accessories?

It's a bit early to judge, in fairness, though. I haven't tried it out yet. It might be awesome.

The only people who need that 9ft extension cable are people who have their Xbox hooked up to a projector. The other mounts are only a luxury item not a necessity for anyone who has their TV on or above a stand, shelf or table.

@Mark or maybe for those that have their telly mounted on a wall more than 3ft from their 360?
