--- UPDATE --- Microsoft has informed us that it will have an official word on the story that follows regarding the inclusion or otherwise of voice control at launch for Kinect. Stay tuned. --- END UPDATE

In a shocker of a piece of news, it appears that Kinect will not come with voice chat or voice control at launch.

MCV reports Robin Burrowes , the marketing manager for Xbox Live EMEA stating that, “we will be announcing when voice control will be turned on in due course”.

Not only that but the voice chat feature touted at the E3 unveil alongside voice control won't be ready for November 14th.

In case you'd forgotten about that "If you can see it, just say it" thing from E3... watch it again below, it looks "launchy" to us.

This news is false. Microsoft put out a statement saying that Kinect will have voice control and video chat at launch.

UPDATE: Microsoft has issued the following statement to MCV.

“Voice control is an exciting part of the Kinect for Xbox 360 controller-free experience and we can confirm that it will be available at launch in November 2010. Only on Xbox 360 will you be able to navigate the Kinect Hub using your voice to control your movies, TV Shows and music. We do not have additional details to share about local voice availability at this time.”

Both will be available at launch according to Microsoft.
