Crytek Boss: Drops the 3D Bomb for Console Crysis
Once you've played 3D you'll never go back.
Some developers and publishers maybe hedging their bets when it comes to 3D gaming, not Crytek, and certainly not head man Cevat Yerli.
"Console gamers haven't seen [the original] Crysis yet and when we launch Crysis 2 it's kind of like a re-launch of the franchise," he says before dropping the big 3D bomb, "We want to make sure people associate the Crysis brand with 3D gaming in the future."
But isn't 3D just gimmickry? Not according to Yerli, "we also want to make sure that it's for a reason - we want to turn the TV as well as the monitor in to a window into a new world. Once people play in 3D the way we've demonstrated, I don't think you'll want to not play in 3D ever again."
By which we think he means, "Once you've played 3D you won't want to go back to 2D".
