Valve Working On Portal 2 Cross-Compatibility For PS3
Pleased about Portal 2 on the PlayStation 3? Even more pleased that it will come with Steamworks for the platform? Get ready to be ultra-pleased, as Valve’s Eric Johnson has revealed the company is aiming to allow cross-compatibility between PS3 and PC players.

This means that players using the PC version of Portal 2 can engage in co-op with those on a PlayStation 3. “[It's] something the team is gunning for," was Johnson's response to The Kartel.

"The plan is you will be able to play between console and PC," added developer Mike Dunkle. Johnson said that the framework for Steam won't be implemented into the Xbox 360 version any time soon, as Microsoft would have to agree before Valve could go ahead.

Portal 2 is heading for a PC, Mac, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 release in 2011.
