It's being rumoured that Microsoft's Project Natal is to get a new and final name at E3 this year. The controller-free system will also be priced.
A 'solid source' over at Edge says that the system will get its official branding in LA with a standalone price of around $149 - or $299 bundled with an Xbox 360 Arcade. Given that the Xbox 360 Arcade currently costs $199 according to Microsoft in the USA, that's an interesting piece of pricing.
The source also states that "the device has been pencilled in for an October 26 worldwide launch, although we were advised that the date could yet shift by a few weeks either way." So, October 26th or October 1st or November 5th maybe?
Either way, a new name and pricing significantly more than the expected $50.

Surely it will go the way of the eye-toy at that price. I thought Microsoft were practically going to give this away in order to get it into people homes.

hmm So they removed the hardware processing chips, minimized the hardware involved and now charging the same price range of a nintendo DS for something already mentioned previously of costing around $20-30$ to make. No thanks but i find PS3 Move vastly more appealing and involving from a practical point of view.
