Some interesting information has come out of BioWare’s community forums regarding Mass Effect 2, following repeated questions from fans if the game will ship on more than one disc.

Community Co-ordinator Chris Priestly stepped in during the debate to reveal that, yes, Mass Effect 2 will come in two discs for both PC and the Xbox 360. The PC version will require a standard install, with which afterwards one can play with just one disc in the drive, while the Xbox 360 version will need a disc swap.

“Even though there is a disc swap, it occurs at a carefully planned place in the game (that does not interfere with gameplay) and is done once. You do not swap back and forth. 1 swap and then done,” says Priestly. “Why 2 discs? Answer: Because you cannot fit this much awesome on one disc.”

Also announced via the forums was a clarification on the Collector’s Edition’s third disc. This will be a DVD movie that will contain a Making Of video and ‘other bonus information.’

So, that's that then. Mystery solved. Is this news going to make you less likely to play the game? Hopefully not, but sound off anyway in the Comments box below.
