Who really needs Ericsson for the PSP phone?

Sony PSP Phones-in Skype Success
A recent survey regarding Skype use by RealWorld RealResearch indicates that the system's functionality on PSP that came all the way back with firmware update 3.90 has proved a success... at least in Japan.

Reported in whatjapanthinks, the report shows that, while PC use vastly outstrips everything else for the VoIP system at 97%, the PSP with 6.6% beats even the fixed-line phone (4.2%) and even the Skypephone itself (1.9%).

What laughs they must be having over at Sony Ericsson with the still unreleased PSP-Phone.

Confusing statistics, with >100% results. Multiple answers possible. Bah.

Nevertheless, 213 people indicating "what Japan thinks"? No. Ask 10,000 and you might get a more representative result.

Carriers are pretty aggressive when it comes to clamping down on services like Skype and Google Voice. Wonder how long this will survive when the PSP Phone eventually surfaces. Another link to add to your Spong piece: http://beatthat.com/blog/psp-phone-in-the-pipeline
