Sony's Tretton: Third-Parties Blurt Secrets

People don't respect confidentiality.

It seems that despite Sony's E3 being full of good stuff from games to hardware news - and with PSPGo, actual hardware releases, Jack Tretton, president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment of America, is unhappy.

He's unhappy that the one-off good games news event was marred by most of us knowing about PSP Go! (via an early 'release' of Qore) early; the magic wand, and Trico... sorry Last Guardian.

"People don’t respect confidentiality in this industry", says Tretton to CNBC.

"It’s tough enough to keep a secret within your own company, much less when you speak to third parties", he continues. Before stating, "This is an industry that has trouble focusing on today.

"We want to constantly talk about tomorrow.… You have to prepare for people to know things in advance. The frustrating thing is they only know a part of the story and that opens up a lot of conjecture and misinformation that ultimately waters down the reality when you roll it out."
