What we did know before E3 this year - thanks to an 'accidental' Qore leak - was that PSP Go
would appear. A smaller, leaner, lighter, UMD-less PSP.
What we didn't know what that Sony would not replace the PSP Slim'n'Lite nor the PSP 3000 when it brings the new device in on October 1st in the USA and Europe for €249 (circa £210 but we'd expect £249). We do now because SCE top man, Kaz Hirai, told us.
As well as speaking about the new unit, Hirai was quick to point out to current UMD owners (and retailers), "All PSP games moving forward will be distributed digitally and by UMD."
Joining the PSP Go will also be
Gran Turismo PSP at long last at 60fps... but on that later.
