Tweet or Twat: Zune Announce Faked
Yesterday many people were becoming hyper over a tweet that said:

"June 2009 will be an important month for Zune lovers."

This was followed up by one that said:

"New product launch, that's all I'm allowed to say. Hold off from buying an iPhone/Pre. :)"

Blimey! This was then related to stories like this, and this one.

In fact, one site even stated: "We've had the hints that a new Zune, namely the Zune HD, could be surfacing this year but an interesting twitter update from the Microsoft Office 2010 team points towards June being the month of the Zune."

But then, it all turned out to be a bloke with a Twitter account telling fibs to have a go at Apple.

"This is Mr.Haklab This account was created to getpoint about iPhone piracy across to Apple", the point was in regard to iPhone piracy.

Having been caught out running the story as a story, Engadget was 'pinged' by a Microsoft spokesman, who told the respected site, "That account is bunk. Not run by Microsoft so I would not put much stock in what they say. The real Office movie account is http://twitter.com/office2010movie ."

Over here in Europe, of course, we're still waiting to see a Zune... let alone an HD Zune... that plays games.
