Midway is reportedly set to reveal Mortal Kombat 8 at its Gamers Day in Las Vegas today.
While the event is to be held today, Mortal-Kombat.org claims that a Midway rep told it, "Our event is on April 17th, but all information and assets provided at the event are under strict embargo until Friday, April 18th at 4PM PT".
Meanwhile, a poster on the website has also claimed, "I received confirmation from a source I trust that the game Mortal Kombat versus DC Universe is indeed happening". He claims that the game will be aimed at a younger audience, which makes sense given that DC characters' non-lethal ways contrast somewhat with the fatalities the series is famed for.
Rumours about such a game first arose late last year and remain unconfirmed. SPOnG remains dubious, as balancing a game that could pit the planet-moving Superman against a Shaolin Monk like Liu Kang would be... well, let's say 'interesting'.
