Nokia's mobile gaming platform, N-Gage, is now live.
A posting on the N-Gage blog tells us:
"We are live! The games, the devices, and the community are all here for you to finally get your teeth into. The Forums are back up and the new N-Gage application is here.
"There will be an official announcement on Monday, but for you, the N-Gage faithful we wanted to let you know we’re up and running! So come join our moderators in the Forums for our launch party, and start enjoying the next generation of mobile gaming."
Following the
failure of N-Gage hardware to find an audience, Nokia opted to change the concept of N-Gage to make it a middleware platform for several of its phones. The idea is to ease the pains of mobile development - an area plagued by problems adapting games to different operating systems - with a unified platform.
The latest iteration of N-Gage was
previously scheduled to launch last year but was delayed, with Nokia citing software testing as the cause of the delay.
