Following on from its Collection Classique range of PC products in France and Spain, Ubi Soft is now announcing the launch of its first range of budget-price products for the PlayStation - the Ubi Soft Exclusive Collection - in the Europe-Asia-Pacific region.
What Ubi Soft is offering under this label is essentially a series of high-quality games priced at £9.99. The range is identified by standardized packaging for each title.
Exclusive Collection Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six, the first game in the range, has already been released, in the Netherlands, Belgium, Scandinavia, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom, on 14 December. Exclusive Collection Monaco Grand Prix Ô Racing Simulation 2 will be released in January 2001 in France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and 24 export territories. Exclusive Collection Grandia Ô will also to be released in January 2001 in the same countries, as well as in Germany. Exclusive Collection Killer Loop® and Exclusive Collection Jade Cocoon will join the range at the end of the first quarter of 2001.
Rob Cooper, Managing Director, (Northern Europe, Australasia and Export) asserted "The aim of the range is to provide access to Ubi Soft games for a greater number of gamers. These new releases, most of which were first published a year ago, means that their distribution can be re-energized, prolonging their life cycle."
Founded as it is on Ubi Soft's biggest hits in each of the countries, this range will also win over PlayStation2 gamers, due to the PS2's backwards compatibility.
