Atari to Publish Musashi: Samurai Legend in Europe
Sword-wielding PlayStation 2 title from Square Enix cuts through to Europe.
Atari today announced that it will publish Musashi: Samurai Legend from Square Enix Ltd. products in Europe. The action role-playing game will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system and marks the series' debut on the platform. The game features vivid, cel-shaded graphics and exhilarating, fast-paced, action-packed gameplay. Following its March release in North America and forthcoming July launch in Japan, the game will reach the shelves of Europe in September 2005.
“The graphics techniques used in Musashi: Samurai Legend have created a stunning visual feast, faithful to the eye-popping style of Japanese anime, a style which is mirrored again in the great depth of storyline and the heart-stopping action,” said Cyril Voiron, Marketing Director, Atari Europe. “We’re very pleased to be working again with Square Enix on this project, bringing European fans of fighting games and the anime style a new slice of high-calibre action on PS2.”
The journey begins when Princess Mycella summons Musashi across space and time to save her people from danger. As a stranger in a new world, Musashi finds intrigue and adventure as he hones his battle skills to defeat a sinister nemesis. All-new battle systems contribute to non-stop action. Musashi can focus his energy to learn his opponents' techniques, allowing him to give enemies a taste of their own medicine. And this time Musashi can not only pick up allies and enemies but also wield them in combat to devastating effect.
