Hitman Symphony strikes a chord at GC
Danish-born music artist and composer Jesper Kyd (www.jesperkyd.com) today announced his award-winning symphonic score for the best-selling Hitman series will be performed tonight in concert by members of the Prague Symphony Orchestra. The live performance takes place during the opening ceremony of the annual GC-Games Convention held at the Gewandhaus concert hall in Leipzig, Germany.

"Jesper Kyd's highly acclaimed music from the Hitman series is one of the most anticipated scores to be performed at this year's concert," revealed event producer Thomas Boecker. "Kyd brings his own unique style to soundtracks, which makes this Hitman suite such a great highlight for the second GC concert."

Kyd's live orchestral score for Hitman 2: Silent Assassin was originally recorded with the Budapest Symphony Orchestra and Hungarian Radio Choir. The music featured in the game's high profile promotional videos on MTV, G4TechTV, Spike TV, SciFi Channel, Comedy Channel, USA Network and VH1. The soundtrack was recognized for Outstanding Achievement in Music at the Vault Network Awards and nominated as a finalist for GameSpot Best Music Award on PC, PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The Hitman 2: Silent Assassin soundtrack album also received the Editor's Choice Gold Award from PSE2 Magazine. Most recently, GameSpot highlighted the Hitman series as one of the all-time great soundtracks in "A History Of Video Game Music."

Earlier this year Kyd performed tracks from the electronica-style album Hitman: Contracts for a live DJ set during the game's official launch party in Europe. He is currently scoring several film and game soundtracks including A-List titles for Eidos, Konami and Take 2 and has recorded live symphony sessions in Budapest and Paris where he recorded with a 90-piece orchestra and 60-piece choir for an unannounced project.
