Cambridge, England, UK-based games developer Creature Labs has today announced the signing of exclusive publishing agreements with Publisher FastTrak (for the UK) and French distributor EMME (for France) of The Snowman Interactive Storybook.

The title, based on the well-loved story by Raymond Briggs, brings the warmth and beauty of this classic tale to PC CD-ROM just in time for Christmas 2000. Featuring the full-length award-winning animation and the chart topping music of The Snowman, the title is aimed at children of all ages.

Says Creature Labs' Publishing Director, Howard Newmark, "The FastTrak and EMME publishing deals for The Snowman couldn't have happened at a better time. This is the perfect family release on CD Rom leading up to the holiday season and I think that both publishers will do a superb job on the marketing, publicity and promotion. We're looking forward to a very strong sell through."

Jon Silvera, FastTrak's General Manager commented, "I am pleased that FastTrak is working with Creature Labs on this project. The Snowman package is exceptional and the fortuitous timing of the launch means that we are able to capitalise on the interest that will be generated around the Christmas season. From a personal perspective, The Snowman is one of my childhood favourites and it will be a real pleasure to work on."

The Snowman book was written in 1978 by Raymond Briggs and since then has sold over one million copies around the world. The Snowman animation is broadcast in over 25 countries every Christmas including on Canal+ in France, PBS in the US, ZDF in Germany and Channel Four in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. It is also shown on the Disney Channel several times over the Holiday Season in the USA. The animation has also won a number of awards, including the highly prestigious Prix Jeunesse in France, first prize at the Chicago Festival of Children's Films, a gold medal at the New York International TV and Film Festival and was nominated for an Oscar.
