We're Number 1 (&2)

IOMO get the beers in after pub games success.

Mobile game developer IOMO are celebrating the success of the first two titles in their Pub Games series, after Pub Pool topped the Vodafone UK chart, followed by Pub Darts hitting number two.

Both games have proven successful with players around the world, with a combination of simple and enjoyable gameplay and authentic pub atmosphere - from the flock wallpaper and dirty glasses to the sarcastic landlord.

The company will be releasing a number of new Pub themed titles in the near future, with Pub Football the first to appear in August 2004, followed by Pub Fruity (to be known as Pub Slots outside the UK). For the more active pub-goer Pub Football offers the best pub league action, with the promise of a lager and a packet of cheese and onion crisps at half-time. Pub Fruity (or Pub Slots for those of you outside the sunny UK) gives those players who don't fancy all that running around and shouting, a chance to flex those fingers and win some cash from the pub fruit machine.

John Chasey, the managing director of IOMO, says "The pub games series have been very successful with networks and more importantly with players all around the world. The games are simple and accessible, so almost anyone can pick them up and play them very quickly, but just as important they have real character and personality, which is something lacking in a great many mobile games today. We are genuinely delighted that the games have done so well. Number 1 and 2 in the charts is a real achievement and we're hoping that the other pub games will prove to be just as popular."
