Eidos announces first details on Crash 'n' Burn and 'smashing' new trailer

Prepare to enter the nitrous-fuelled world of Crash 'n' Burn where dangerous driving is not only encouraged, it is the only way you'll survive.

Crash 'n' Burn is being developed by Climax's Brighton studio, and will be available on PlayStation 2 and Xbox this autumn.

Choose your car, paint it, polish it, and personalise it. Build it up with new components, giant spoilers and reinforced fenders. Supercharge it, fill it with nitrous and then take it to the back street circuits of Miami, San Francisco, L.A. and New York. You're at the back of the pack, grid position sixteen with fifteen cars ahead of you, polished until they gleam. Your primary objective is to take first place; your secondary objective is to run everyone else off the road. Crunch them into the barrier, rip, shred and tear sheet metal from their frames, leave their burning engine blocks and melted tires in your wake. The last driver with four wheels wins. Then do it again, online, with support for up to 16 players (PlayStation 2 and Xbox).

Crash 'n' Burn will be showcased on the Eidos stand (South Hall #924) at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which takes place in Los Angeles from May 12-14. Check out the trailer at www.crashnburngame.com
