Evil returns to PlayStation 2 this summer with a T-Virus outbreak of epic proportions
Terror fills the streets of Raccoon City as its citizens try to escape the devastating effects of a secret biological weapon that turns all living creatures into flesh-eating zombies. Soon only a few desperate survivors remain uninfected and they must find a way out of the city before the government takes the only option left and quarantines the entire area. Permanently.

Unlike previous titles in the series, players of Resident Evil Outbreak do not play the role of a highly trained S.T.A.R.S. operative, but one of eight ordinary citizens who must rely on their innate survival instincts and unique skills to stay alive.

  • Kevin, a Raccoon City Police Officer. He has failed the S.T.A.R.S. entry exam twice. Kevin begins the game with the only hand gun available from the start.

  • George, an experienced doctor who is known from Raccoon hospital. George is skilled at mixing herbs.

  • Yoko, a Japanese woman shrouded in mystery. Yoko carries a backpack which enables her to carry more than anyone else.

  • Mark, a Vietnam War veteran who works as a security guard. Mark is good at fending off attacks.

  • Cindy, a waitress at a bar. Cindy carries a case throughout the game which can be filled with objects such as herbs.

  • David, a plumber. David can combine items to create new weapons.

  • Jim, a railway worker who is good at solving puzzles

  • Alyssa, a competent reporter. Alyssa is skilled at picking locks.

Having chosen a character, two further CPU controlled characters are automatically selected to assist you. Examples of their help includes giving you items such as health and ammunition, pulling you up onto a roof if you fail to make a jump and naturally providing back up when there are zombies to be dispatched.

Resident Evil Outbreak is divided into five distinct scenarios, each offering a fresh set of challenges and the option to play with a different character every time. Over the course of the game, players will encounter diverse environments such as the frozen subterranean Umbrella base, a hospital overrun with those infected by the virus and a rooftop chase. The stories may be new, but the signature visuals and bone-chilling audio that are an integral part of the Resident Evil experience remain.

Resident Evil Outbreak includes the following:

  • Two control methods - In addition to the classic D-Pad controls, an all new analog system allows for more fluid movement and tighter control

  • Unique cast of eight playable characters, each with different strengths, special abilities and perspectives of the storyline

  • Five brand new scenarios

  • Greater freedom than in previous Resident Evil games with multiple paths through scenarios

  • In-depth profile which tracks statistics including play time, types of weapons used and more

  • More than 260 special items scattered throughout the game

Resident Evil Outbreak will be released on PlayStation 2 this September.
