Langen, Germany. The great love of detail portrayed in the graphics of ANNO 1602, which has already convinced the player community in the past, is to be by far surpassed by the graphics of SUNFLOWERS’ and Max Design’s sequel to the game. In their new project, “ANNO 1503 - Setting out for a New World”, the three graphic artists Ulli Koller, Martin Lasser and Claudia Gerhadter will prove that there are virtually no limits to their wealth of imagination. ANNO 1503 will convince by its even more detailed and brilliant graphic design, which is to set new standards in the ranks of empire building strategy games. Ulli Koller and Martin Lasser answer the question, where they get their inspiration for these remarkable graphics from:
Ulli Koller (by the way one of the few female graphic artists in game development): “Travelling has always been very important to me, because it gave me the feeling for the textures of materials, for the proportions of objects and for atmospheres. A lot of the experiences and impressions I brought back from my travels during my years at university, while studying architecture, will also surely influence the graphic design of ANNO 1503.”
Martin Lasser: “I get very much inspired by books and movies. Whenever I’m at the movies, I’ll automatically pay some attention to the design of the background or details from the backdrop, too. And naturally these impressions will later find their way into my own graphic design of objects or scenes.”
SUNFLOWERS has scheduled the release of ANNO 1503 for the first half of the year 2001.
