In creating the video sequences, SUNFLOWERS and Max Design have collaborated with Spellcraft Studios, who produced the cut scenes for TechnoMage. The videos in "ANNO 1503 - Setting out for a New World", were created using the latest technology and amaze with their vivid action, gorgeous images and atmospheric effects. The videos are shown in 24-bit color (16.7 Million. colors) with a 640x360 pixel resolution (wide-screen format).
Compared to its predecessor, ANNO 1503 has even more beautiful and detailed in game visuals, making the game come alive. At the same time, any movement in the game has become far smoother through increasing the animation frame rate.
This title not only promises far more for the eyes, but also great deal more entertainment. Since Spellcraft has taken over the production of the video sequences, Max Design can again concentrate on the affectionate creation of all the in game graphics and animations.
An example of the extraordinary level of detail in the animation is the Moorish snake charmer, who is sitting in the market place of an old city. By playing the flute, he hypnotizes the snake, which rises out of the basket. The flute playing illustrates the oriental character of the city as well as adding to the atmosphere of the market place. The ambient sounds enhance the graphic effects and the numerous animations and serve to immerse the player in an impressive and fascinating world.
We will be revealing more of ANNO 1503 in a "glimpse behind the scenes", coming soon.
SUNFLOWERS has scheduled the release of ANNO 1503 for first half of 2001.
