Ubisoft and Sony Online Entertainment announce Gates of Discord for Everquest in Europe
New continent, class and alternate advancement abilities mark a new age of discovery for popular online game.
Ubisoft, one of the world's largest video game publishers, today announced that it has signed an exclusive agreement with Sony Online Entertainment Inc. (SOE), a worldwide leader in massively multiplayer online gaming, to publish Gates of Discord, a new expansion for the incredibly popular PC Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG), EverQuest, in Europe. This expansion will offer exploration of a newly discovered continent; a new class (the Berserker) and Alternate Advancement Abilities that will offer new and unique skills to master. Gates of Discord will be available February 12th 2004 in Europe, only 72 hours after the American release. This early European release date will be possible thanks to the perfect work relations between Ubisoft and Sony Online Entertainment Inc. (SOE).
"Ubisoft is aware that new EverQuest expansions are always eagerly awaited by the fan community," said Florence Alibert, EMEA marketing director at Ubisoft. "We have worked closely with SOE to shorten the delays and the result is that for the first time, we will be able to release this new EQ expansion within three days only after the US".

"Our goal is to reach simultaneous worldwide launches for each new expansion, and with Gates of Discord, we're almost there."
The Gates of Discord directs players to the west side of Norrath where Nedaria's Landing is abuzz with activity in preparation for one of the greatest and most dangerous expeditions in the history of Norrath. Stories and events will lead players across an uncharted land twisted and scarred by an unknown force. New alternate advancements will challenge the most veteran of players while the new Berserker class brings inordinate amounts of strength and bravery.
