Zone of the Enders 2 sounds off
As Konami of Europe gears up for the end September release of its eagerly anticipated 3D action title, Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner, the publisher has announced it is to release a special CD soundtrack (sold separately) to accompany the game on release.

The 22-track CD will boast over 70 minutes of music specially-created for the game, including a unique remix of the main theme – 'Beyond the Bounds' – which is exclusive to the massively enhanced European release. Each of the tracks has been conceived to complement the ongoing missions Zone of the Enders 2: The 2nd Runner offers. Tracks such as 'Phobos at Mars', 'BAHRAM Battleship' and 'Aloivia' range from haunting tunes to sweeping military themes, and truly display the versatility of the game's in-house musicians.

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner is the creation of the dream partnership of Metal Gear Solid producer Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa, the creative talent and mechanical designer behind the original game. Both are renowned for their love of cinematic visuals and epic soundtracks, and Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner is an epic sci-fi tale than spans an entire galaxy. The year is 2174 and the despotic BAHRAM military organisation is using its new Orbital Frames mech-robot technology to complete the suppression of Mars and the Earth. Seizing control of the Jehuty Orbital Frame, the most powerful craft of its kind, the player acts as the last hope for the stricken planets, using its advanced technology to strike deep at the heart of the BAHRAM army.

The European version of the game has also been massively expanded over the Japanese original, with the development team adding exclusive stages, all-new battle sequences, new graphical demos, and several key new modes. It will also boast an all-new opening sequence including the aforementioned reworking of the stunning introductory theme that takes pride of place on the CD.
