In TOCA World Touring Cars Codemasters takes players beyond the UK-only races
of the British Touring Car Championship of the first two TOCA games, this time the internationally famous circuits are host to motor racing's most aggressive races on a global stage.
With wholly accurate recreation of 23 of the world's most famous and challenging race circuits, gamers race at key venues across five continents: Europe, North America, South America, Australia and Japan, TOCA World Touring Cars' unique "momentum prediction engine" provides the best car handling yet seen on any PlayStation game.
Players really experience the white-knuckle feel of driving any of over 40 real cars from around the world, with all the speed, jostling for position, intelligent over-taking, scrapes, wheel locking and individual driver personalities.
Visually TOCA World Touring Cars is a realistic motor sport sim, however gameplay offers arcade-like excitement and exhilaration for the player, embracing the high-speed aggressive 14-car races of the sport. Being a competitive racing sport, there's plenty of potential car damage to contend with and TOCA World Touring Cars features a powerful new dynamic polygon deformation damage system, making a collision an even more nerve-wracking incident.
The damage system is based on real-life impact physics and, by emulating the crumple zones found on an actual car, applies simulated damage effect to the graphic models of the in-game cars To ensure authentic representation, each polygon that forms part of the overall car graphic can be deformed independently
