Kalisto Entertainment buy DayLight

Kalisto has signed an agreement with the US developer DayLight Productions and opens it's first American production studios.

Bordeaux based Kalisto Entertainment has just signed an agreement with the company DayLight Productions in order to acquire it through a stock swap, marking Kalisto's latest move to expand its international presence. This acquisition of DayLight reinforces Kalisto's position in the US market, which already represents 40% of Kalisto's sales ; it will be effective as early as it will be approved by the shareholders'assembly in september 2000.

The new company will be renamed Kalisto U.S.A. The studio will produce both original Kalisto games and co-productions based on 3rd party licenses. These games will benefit from sharing Kalisto's proprietary technology tools and expertise designed to create multi-platform games for current and next generation consoles, PC and the Internet.

DayLight Productions is a dedicated developer, based in Austin, Texas, and the San Francisco Bay Area, California. The 20 strong team has produced high quality games for major publishers including Electronic Arts, Fox Interactive, Activision and Universal/Konami. Among its impressive production credits, many members of the DayLight team worked on the production of the million-unit selling Wing Commander series including WC3, 4, and Prophecy.

From its San Francisco Bay Area headquarters Kalisto U.S.A will be helmed by current DayLight President Mark W. Day.
