Battle Isle ® Saga Continues.
Blue Byte Announces Children of Haris® , 4th Episode Of The Classic Strategy Game.
London, England, 5 September 1999 - - Blue Byte Software today announced details of the long-awaited sequel to their classic strategy game, Battle Isle® . Battle Isle® 4: Children Of Haris is currently in development and expected to be released during Autumn 2000 on PC CD-Rom, picking up seamlessly on the scenario and success of its best-selling predecessors.
The 35-year-long Robot War from Battle Isle® I, the inaugural episode of the series, are memories in a distant and hazy past. It was the first time resource planning and the conquest of factories were combined in a PC hexagonal block strategy game. The terror regime of the Titan Net in Battle Isle® II, widely acclaimed as the classic in the series by the hard-core gaming press and subsequently the recipient of many awards, sadly shares a similar past. The final battle against the emperor was decided in Battle Isle® III, combined with numerous video sequences illustrating the background story. And the catastrophe of Scayra from Incubation® : Time Is Running Out (Battle Isle® Phase 4), with its 3D real-time graphics counting among the great innovations in a turn-based strategy also seems as forgotten as its heroes, Rachel Rutherford and Alexander Bratt. Peace has prevailed for a long time and the thought of war is a very bad dream for those who must return.
Nevertheless, the Battle Isle® -Saga continues. Battle Isle® 4 is a fantasy-filled, innovative strategy game, in glorious 3D, keeping in the tradition of the Battle Isle® series and Incubation®.
Slovakian development studio, Cauldron is developing the title and have one objective: "To set new technological standards in every area of its development." According to Marian Ferko, Cauldron’s ‘Visionary’. "They are currently designing a new 3D Graphic Engine while Blue Byte takes care of the story-line & concept", explains experienced Incubation veteran, Wolfgang Walk, Project Manager, who is co-ordinating Battle Isle® 4 with Cauldron. When asked about a possible sequel in the Battle Isle series back in 1997, just as Incubation was being released, Walk answered, "We have given thought to continuing the Battle Isle® series, but we will only begin work on a new episode when we have found a suitable starting point which does justice to the innovative tradition of the Battle Isle series & story."
Blue Byte counts the Battle Isle® series among the games, which have secured the company’s’ international success. In the meantime, over 650,000 copies from the series have been sold and these classic strategy games which are now included Blue Bytes Classic Series are still in high demand.
