Set in the late 21st Century, the player takes the pivotal role of John Chaser, a 32 year old fugitive. As a result of having lived a life on the wrong side of the law, Chaser has become skilled in hand to hand combat, an expert in a wide range of weapons and has the ability to keep calm even when confronted with extreme pressure, all skills and traits which will be put to a test far greater than anything he has experience previously.

At the start of Chaser, players discover our hero waking up from a slumber dazed and confused, with no recollection of either who he is or what he is doing on board a mighty spaceship, the HMS Majestic. Struggling to his feet, he must quickly regain his composure as immediate threat comes in the ominous guise of a team of highly-trained, heavily armed shocktroops – people that have express orders to kill Chaser at any cost.

The shocktroops have been employed by Marscorp and the authorities on Earth, armed with a range of powerful weapons they are a fearless group of men who follow their orders to the letter. They crawl over the HMS Majestic as they frantically pursue John Chaser. However, Chaser will need to exhibit extreme caution when confronted by the shocktroops as they are highly intelligent adversaries and experts in combat.

Samuel Longwood is the founder and President of Marscorp, a company established in the year 2044 dedicated to the colonisation of Mars. As a result, he has become an incredibly powerful man who has helped shape the world where Chaser lives which in turn has resulted in a phenemonally loyal and powerful following across the world who will support him to almost fanatical levels.

Commenting on Chaser, Rebecca Lindon, PR Manager of JoWooD Productions said: “In John Chaser and Samuel Longwood, Chaser will feature two of the greatest game characters ever seen. John Chaser is as cool a cucumber in a freezer and as hard as a rock held by Lennox Lewis. On the other hand, Samuel Longwood has so much power that he uses the world as a ping-pong ball in his game of universe domination table tennis.”

Chaser will be released in the UK in Q2 2003 on PC CD Rom with an ELSPA rating of 15+.
