Montreal – INFOGRAMES ENTERTAINMENT, a world leader in the creation and distribution of video games, has taken a controlling interest in DTI. By partnering with DTI, headquartered in the Cité du multimédia, the French multinational will create a leading edge digital studio in order to attack the markets for in-flight entertainment, digital television and future mass-market digital platforms. This agreement will result in the creation of more than 200 employees in Montreal by the year 2004.
Today’s announcement by Mr. Bernard Landry, Deputy Premier of Quebec and Minister of State for the Economy and Finance, Mr. Bruno Bonnell, President and Founder of Infogrames Entertainment, as well as Mr. Nicolas Bélanger, President of DTI, has once again confirmed Montreal’s growing strength in the high technology and new media sectors.
Mr. Bélanger, of DTI, is thrilled about the partnership with Infogrames: “This agreement is a concrete example of DTI’s commitment to become the leading supplier of software solutions for the in-flight entertainment, interactive television and embedded systems industries. This partnership provides us with immediate access to an impressive inventory of applications and intellectual property via Infogrames. The agreement truly illustrates DTI’s strategy to deliver the best available software solutions for new integrated platforms in partnership with the leading players in the global industry.”
Incorporated in 1995, DTI exports 95% of its products and services. The company maintains offices in Canada and the United States to serve customers on 4 continents. DTI’s products and services consist of the porting and creation of software solutions, the creation of entertainment content and graphical interfaces for embedded systems, among others. Through its division, MISTIC SOFTWARE, located in the CDTI of the Cité du multimédia, DTI is also involved in the conception of an integrated, multi-platform software development tool for multimedia and video game applications.
From his perspective, Mr. Bruno Bonnell, President and Founder of Infogrames Entertainment, is equally delighted to invest in this Quebec-based company: “In DTI we have found a technology partner of choice. In addition, Montreal offers us an unparalleled technological environment as well as a stimulating business climate. The combination of all these factors greatly assists us in the development of new applications and in the conquest of new markets.
