Divinity Comes up Trumps
To celebrate this Friday’s (13th September) release of its staggeringly involving role playing game Divine Divinity, CDV Software Entertainment UK is offering all Web browsers the chance to win some excellent PC hardware – provided they defeat the Black Knight.

A new card game has just gone live at leading fan-site ‘World of Divinity’ (www.rpgplanet.com/divinity), which pits player versus computer in a deadly game of Trumps. Each contestant starts with eight cards, each featuring different characters from the game. Every card has a set of attributes, and players must correctly predict in which category their character beats the opponent’s. The winner keeps both cards, and the game continues until one player retains all the characters. Players must use skill and luck to pick attributes in order to obtain the Dark Knight’s deck; defeating the Black Dragon or the almost unbeatable Succubus along the way.

Beat the Dark Knight and players can enter their details into the Divine Divinity draw, top prize of which is a set of Videologic’s award-winning Sirocco speakers. Other prizes such as copies of the game and merchandise are available as runners-up prizes.

Divine Divinity is a huge role-playing game set in a new fantasy universe. The game takes the player on a fantastic quest in a land torn apart by corruption and dark magic, and features around 200 hours of in-depth role-playing gaming. It combines the best features of the RPG genre and introduces a lot of new features – and has already received an ‘Essential’ award from one of the UK’s leading role-playing aficionados.

“The Divine Divinity Trumps challenge is a great way of players meeting the varied characters within the game in an entertaining mini game,” says Leo Zullo, marketing manager, CDV Software Entertainment UK. “Skill and luck are necessary in equal measure to defeat the Black Knight – but it is possible, provided you concentrate on the order of the cards. As a distraction whist on the phone or waiting for something to download, we’re convinced we’ve come up trumps.”

Players can attempt to defeat the Black Knight now, at www.rpgplanet.com/divinity. Winners will be announced on October 13th.
