Ubi Soft, one of the world's largest video game publishers, proudly announces that Splinter Cell has been named Best Action/Adventure Game in the exclusive Game Critics Awards: Best of E3 2002. One of the most prestigious awards offered at E3, the game industry's premiere event, the Game Critics Awards are the only independent E3 awards, voted on by editors from nearly 40 leading outlets that cover games, including the top magazines, online sites, newspapers, and television programs.
Anticipation is building for the release of Splinter Cell on the Xboxä video game system from Microsoft, and on the PC, later this year. The game is winning great praise, and the Game Critics Award is just the latest addition to Splinter Cell's growing list of honours, which include:

Because such awards are often given to sequel games in known franchises, it is significant that Splinter Cell, a new game, has received such high honours.
" Splinter Cell was one of the hottest games at E3 and it has the awards to prove it," explained Laurent Detoc, president of Ubi Soft Entertainment, Inc. "It's the kind of game that makes you proud to be a gamer when you show it to your friends. It's that cool. Intense stealth action storyline, amazing graphics, swift moves and awesome gadgets: realism at its best and you're the operative."
"Xbox showed Ubi Soft's Splinter Cell proudly in our booth at E3, and the reaction to it was incredible," said J Allard, General Manager, Xbox Platform. "The graphics are amazing and the gameplay is deep and challenging. Splinter Cell is a perfect example of what can happen when a strong development team doesn't settle by writing code to the lowest common denominator for easy porting. This game is turning heads and is going to be a breakout hit this holiday on Xbox."
