LOS ANGELES-- (May 11 2000) – Ubi Soft Entertainment and Mathematiques Appliquees S.A. (MASA) have partnered to publish and distribute Peacemakers, a 3D Real Time Strategy (RTS) for Sega Dreamcast. Peacemakers’ highly adaptive AI, realistic simulation of modern conflicts, media and intervention management, promises to deliver a stimulating and intense experience.
It is the early 21st century and the five major blocks of the world have organized themselves into the International Corps for Peace (ICP) to guarantee the peace. Within this world independent countries are in conflict as civil and ethnic wars have broken out. Peacemakers offers the players the opportunity to choose whether to play the ICP or as the dictators, to ensure their best hope of victory.
In Peacemakers players must keep their wits about them as they resolve conflicts, act upon military and political objectives, as well as, manage media since public opinion greatly affects the players strategies. With the incorporation of the media in Peacemakers, resolving a crisis is not simply a matter of who has the biggest guns, it’s a matter of public opinion. Players must gain popularity within the media, thereby the public will be more willing to provide the players force with more budget and better technology.
Featuring 16 missions to complete in 2 campaigns, Peacemakers heightened AI, fully reactive environment and evolving behaviour system provides a good challenge to hardcore and novice players alike. With hundreds of units to command and an array of weapons at the player’s disposal, the gamer must carefully execute strategies as their opponent quickly learns the various tactics used against them. Allied commanders have an evolving behavior system and each are differently adapted to specific missions. It is up to the player to best determine how to utilize and manage their resources to achieve their goals and bring peace to the global union.
Peacemakers will be available in the UK for Sega’s Dreamcast in late 2000.
